This evening (December 8, 2015), the
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince
Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall in hosting the annual diplomatic
reception at Buckingham Palace. The white tie reception is the highlight
of the annual diplomatic social calendar in London.
Kate wore
Princess Diana's 'Cambridge Lovers Knot' tiara. The Queen, who inherited
the tiara from her grandmother Queen Mary, gave Diana the tiara as a
present on her wedding day and it became her most famous and most
glamorous one. Heavy and often difficult to wear, the piece, composed of
jewels that Mary had in her collection, features swinging pearls
hanging from 19 diamond arches capped with lovers' knots bows. It was
designed in 1913 for Mary, George V's wife, to look like the 1818 Lovers
Knot Tiara made for Princess Augusta of Hesse, the Duchess of Cambridge
and wife of George III's seventh son, Prince Adolphus.

The Duchess is so Classically Beautiful.
