Prince William & Duchess Kate: 'War Horse' UK Premiere.

Marry a prince, travel the world, become a fashion icon, do more charity work. If this was Kate Middleton's to-do list before she turned thirty, she can consider it done. On Monday, the Duchess celebrated the big three-oh without any of the sloppy, liquid-courage fanfare that usually comes with crossing the milestone.
Instead she toasted her accomplishments at a low-key dinner with her nearest and dearest.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, turns 30 Monday amidst excited buzz about what husband Prince William of Wales will give her, and how she will celebrate — a big bash (sis Pippa is a party-planner) or a low-key private party? According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, William, who turns 30 in June, is said to be buying his bride a new watch and commissioning an oil portrait of her. His grandmother Queen Elizabeth II supposedly is giving her a tiara from the royal collection. In honor of the Duchess' big day, here are 30 reasons why we can't get enough of Kate. |
"[She] had a quiet gathering with family and friends on Monday evening," a Palace aide told Us Weekly. "The dinner was held within private quarters at one of the properties situated by their home at Kensington Palace."
Sister Pippa and brother-in-law Harry were both rumored to be planning an all out rager for Kate, but according to The Daily Mirror, it was Guy Pelly, the nightclub owner and close friend of the royal couple, who arranged a more subdued evening centered on a multi-course meal prepared by one of Kate's favorite chefs.
So the party wasn't exactly a three-day marathon as is custom for Middleton's fellow countrymen ('ello Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell). As a future Queen, Kate's grown up faster than most in the final chapter of her '20s. Now she's poised to begin philanthropic work for a number of charities, in addition to playing unofficial ambassador for her native land.
It wouldn't be proper to wave around the spoils of her birthday, but rest assured there were spoils.

Kate Middleton & Prince William Attend Concert for The Prince’s Trust
(December 6, 2011 in London, England) The Duchess of Cambridge, along with her husband Prince William, his father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla Parker Bowles, stepped out to attend musician and former UK X Factor judge Gary Barlow‘s concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Tuesday evening. The evening’s festivities will benefit The Prince’s Trust and The Foundation Of Prince William And Prince Harry, with funds being donated to disadvantaged youths.
Our friends over at Socialite Life did a little digging on Kate’s outfit, and we have to admit that we are impressed with how low-key (but still amazing!) she looks.
According to SL, she wore “Zara‘s ‘Lace Tulip’ dress in black and white and a blazer by Ralph Lauren.”
When it comes to fashion, the newlywed truly can do no wrong!

Kate Middleton Will Make 5 Wardrobe Changes On Christmas Day
Kate Middleton may be in the midst of her ultimate sartorial challenge—holidays with the in-laws. According to royal etiquette, the Duchess will be expected to change up to five times on Christmas Day.
Royal customs expert Jean Broke-Smith explained, "She won't be able to wear the same outfit twice. Kate will need a casual outfit for breakfast, smart outfit with a hat for the morning church service, a dress for lunch, a cocktail dress for early evening drinks and a full-length dress for the evening meal." The etiquette connoisseur added, "The golden rule is nothing too short, too revealing or too gaudy." With the Duchess' fondness towards Grecian gowns and sheath dresses, we doubt this will be a problem.
While Kate has been seen out and about doing some heavy shopping at Zara and Mulberry in preparation, the loyal Alexander McQueen devotee has reportedly ordered two evening dresses from the high-end label. We imagine they'll be custom designs much like her legendary wedding gown and less like the brand's Spring 2012 frothy masked collection. At any rate, this gives us one more holiday surprise to look forward to!

Prince William and Kate Middleton's kiss voted best 2011 TV Moment
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace has been voted the favourite television moment of 2011 in a new poll.
Just over a quarter (26%) of people polled picked the romantic moment from Kate and William's wedding day.
Researchers questioned 1,000 adults online for the poll which was carried out on behalf of Freeview.
A spokeswoman for the company said: "Over the last 12 months, viewers across the nation have been captivated by great TV drama, structured reality programmes, compelling soap storylines and of course the royal wedding."

Duchess Kate certainly looked festive on Christmas day! She wowed passersby Sunday in a plum-colored coat and coordinating hat as she joined Prince William, Harry, Charles and Camilla for church services in Sandringham, Norfolk.
