Prince Charles's 70th Birthday Portraits Moment

Prince Charles's birthday celebrations show no sign of slowing down. Just a few days after the banquet thrown in his honor at Buckingham Palace, a new series of portraits of Charles has been released. Highlights of the previously never-before-seen images, which were taken by Getty royal photographer Chris Jackson, include some adorable photos of Charles playing with his youngest grandchild, Prince Louis, as well as some snaps of Charles presumably feeding the chickens, laughing with his sister Princess Anne, and strolling alongside his mother, the Queen, in Buckingham Palace.

Newly released pictures are only one way the royal family is celebrating the Prince of Wales this week. Tomorrow, on his actual birthday, guests including Will and Kate and Meghan and Harry, along with members of other royal families from across Europe are expected to toast Britain's heir apparent at a banquet at Buckingham Palace.

Prince Louis Adorably Steals the Show in New Photos Released for Prince Charles's 70th Birthday

The royals celebrated with a private birthday party at Buckingham Palace. The formal dinner was a chance to dress up in all their finery, and the Duchess of Cambridge didn't disappoint! Kate looked as stunning as everwith a flawless complexion and pretty updo. She appeared to be wearing a one-shoulder hot pink gown, with ruffled floral details.

As millions of American step out with clever and unique looks for the holiday, Kate Middleton chose to keep things classy and beautiful once again as she attended a special event.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to the Imperial War Museum in London where she viewed letters relating to the three brothers of her great grandmother. All of the men fought and died in World War 1.

In addition, Kate took a brief tour of the First World War Galleries where she met historians and the fellow descendant of a First World War soldier.

During her visits, the proud mother of three wore a stunning blue dress with three-quarter length sleeves. She completed her look with beige heels and a matching clutch.

Kate in Glittering Diamonds and New Family Order for State Banquet

A Kensington Palace spokesperson confirms to Vogue that Kate Middleton wore the Lover’s Knot tiara paired with Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Necklace. They were first spotted on the duchess through the window of a Bentley, perched delicately around her head and neck.

The Lover’s Knot tiara is quite the adornment, containing 19 diamond arches decorated with 38 drop-pearls. It was commissioned for Queen Mary in 1913, made by British jewelry house Garrard.

The Duchess dazzled as she arrived at Buckingham Palace for tonight’s state banquet. The evening is in honor of King Willem-Alexander and his wife Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, in London for a two-day state visit.

Now to the gems we see shimmering on the Duchess’s neck. A hearty “thank you” to all who pointed out this is Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Necklace.

The image of the Queen shows her in formal attire and wearing a tiara. The oval is surrounded by diamonds topped by a red enameled crown. One element of Kate’s order marks a significant change: it is painted on glass, not ivory.

Princess Eugenie marries Jack Brooksbank

Princess Eugenie has married her long-term partner Jack Brooksbank at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle.

She wore the Queen's Greville Emerald Kokoshnik Tiara, made by Boucheron in 1919, featuring brilliant and rose-cut diamonds, pave set in platinum, with six emeralds on either side.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, acted as pageboy and bridesmaid. Charlotte waved enthusiastically at the crowds as they approached the chapel, though negotiating the steps in the high winds proved tricky.

Charlotte struggled to keep balance, while pageboy Louis de Givenchy - son of family friends - took a tumble. Some of the youngsters were seen giggling and joking before walking down the aisle, appearing to imitate the royal trumpeters. 

However, George held his hand over his ear as the musicians heralded Eugenie's arrival.

Eugenie and drinks executive Mr Brooksbank, who met when skiing in Switzerland in 2010, left the castle in a silver DB10 Aston Martin, originally made for the James Bond movie Spectre.

The couple were understood to be heading to the York family home, Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, for their evening reception.

Princess Eugenie and Jack had quite the star-studded bridal party. There were some famous faces including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Mia Tindall, as well as Robbie Williams' daughter Teddy. Eugenie shared this gorgeous photo of her bridesmaids and pageboys and captioned it: "Jack and I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making our day so special and for all the wonderful wishes as we start married life laughing together."

They're usually in work mode when they're out and about on public engagements, which means being on their best behaviour and maintaining professionalism. But sometimes the royal family can't help losing the composure they're so known for and bursting into fits of giggles.

During their royal tour of Bhutan in April 2016, William and Kate attempted archery, the country's national sport. The pair looked highly amused as Kate's arrow massively missed the target and veered off course. The Duchess, in hysterics, instinctively held up her hand in apology.

These two always have a laugh on engagements! The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were attending The Garden Party to Make a Difference at Clarence House in 2010. They watched a performance of Henry Dagg's Cat Organ, prompting a fit of giggles.

One of the most fun engagements of the summer is the annual Braemar Games Highland Gathering. It usually marks a return to royal duties for the Queen, who spends the warmer months in Balmoral. Here the monarch is pictured laughing with her husband Philip, her son Charles and her daughter-in-law Camilla as she watched the tug of war.

The Cambridges had a grand old time at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The couple giggled to each other as they attended a track cycling event, which also saw them take part in a Mexican wave around the Velodrome.

Prince Louis' Christening

Prince Louis has been christened in a private ceremony at St James's Palace.

The two-month-old baby was spotted in public for the first time since his birth when he was taken to the Chapel Royal by his mother and father, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. 

His elder siblings, George and Charlotte, were also in attendance, alongside the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Middleton family.

Kensington Palace released Prince Louis' christening portraits today, following the official ceremony on Monday, 9 July. The two-month-old royal baby stars in the images, shot by British photographer Matt Holyoak, along with other famous faces from the royal family.
