On Friday, April 18, 2014, the Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge visited the Sydney Royal Easter Show in Olympic
Park. The show is Australia’s largest annual event, attracting 900,000
people who celebrate Australian culture. It was first held in 1823, with
Queen Victoria awarding the show the right to use the word "Royal" in
its name.
At
the sheep arena, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were introduced to
Fred, a fine wool merino ram, who is something of a local celebrity.
Both gave him a stroke – Kate more gingerly than William – and laughed
when Fred bowed to them by bending his front legs.
