Kate and William's family Christmas Card 2018

Kate and William's family Christmas card sets social media ablaze as fans speculate over who the young royals take after (and joke that little Louis' eyebrows are 'everything')

Kensington Palace just released a new photo of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their kids, which will be featured in their Christmas card this year. The image, taken by Matt Porteous, shows the royal family of five in a sweet autumnal portrait, dressed casually and posing by a tree together.

As expected, the real stars of the photo are the royal brood: Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and Prince Louis, seven months. The eldest Cambridge sibling—dressed in a sweater, blue pants, and little wellies—goofily poses on a tree branch while holding onto his dad's shoulders.

Princess Charlotte smiles slyly while standing between her parents in a blue knit sweater, dark blue skirt, and boots. Meanwhile, Prince Louis looks cute as a button in his mother's arms, wearing a light blue sweater, navy bloomers, tights, and tiny shoes.

This also marks a rare sighting for Louis, as he's been fairly out of the spotlight since he was born in April. He's only made two major public appearances: leaving the hospital on the day of his birth and at his christening in July. His other cameos since then have been through official portraits, like those released from his baptism and on his grandfather Prince Charles' 70th birthday.

Kate Middleton attended an event at Buckingham Palace

Kate Middleton attended an event at Buckingham Palace looking like a Christmas angel

After wearing a very cool tartan midi skirt yesterday to host a Christmas party for military families, the Duchess attended a reception at Buckingham Palace looking like actual Christmas in an incredible gown and tiara.

The Queen’s annual Diplomatic Corps Reception is one of the biggest events of the year - and the most formal. It has a white tie dress code, meaning men wear tailcoats and women floor-length gowns.

While both Queen Elizabeth and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall looked breathtaking in ivory dresses, it was Kate’s stunning ice blue tulle ensemble that stole the show.

The bespoke gown featured a cowl neck and cap sleeves, plus all-over beading and some serious shimmer, and is believed to be new. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

The yellow ribbon worn on her chest just so happens to be the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth, which was recently given to the Duchess of Cambridge as a thank you for her service. It’s an honour bestowed upon female members of the family, and is worn for royal occasions.

Speaking to a second group, she disclosed she had tried to show her older children, 5-year-old Prince George and 3-year-old Princess Charlotte, the festive treats laid out for military families at Kensington Palace when they arrived home from school and nursery yesterday afternoon — but they were too late.

At the palace party, kids enjoyed an fun mix of activities, including a photo booth, Christmas stocking, snow globe decorating, cracker making and entertainment from U.K. party planners Sharky and George. Prince William, 36, even got in the holiday spirit by joining children in making crackers.

One woman asked William why he had not brought his own children to the party. As he crouched down making truffles with RAF children, he replied: “Because I can’t do this and look after the children.”

“As someone whose husband has served, I know how hard it feels when a loved one leaves to do the job they trained for,” she said. “When William served doing search and rescue, I remember how I felt, but I can’t imagine how it feel when your loved ones are away on active service during Christmas. The absence of people you love must be especially hard at this time of year.”
