How Kate's jolly hockey trip took her medal haul to ten: Duchess jumps for joy as British team beat New Zealand to bronze in 3 -1 win.

After witnessing more than a dozen events and nine British medals, it may have looked as though there was nothing left on the Olympic schedule for her to get excited about. But that's without reckoning on the Duchess of Cambridge's first true love – hockey.

Kate, who was captain of the hockey team when she was a pupil at Marlborough College, was enthusiastically supporting the British women's hockey team yesterday as they won their first Olympic medal in 20 years, taking the tally of medals she has seen to ten.

Wearing a sleeveless white Team GB top with her access all areas pass around her neck, she jumped up and down clapping and cheering as the girls beat New Zealand 3-1 to win the bronze. After the match, Kate went to congratulate the players and posed for pictures with them at the Riverbank Arena in Stratford.

The Duchess has been a tireless supporter of the London Games. Her trip to the hockey was her  19th Olympics engagement since the Games began, including the opening ceremony and meetings with athletes and volunteers. And she seems to be something of a lucky mascot given the number of medals she has seen Team GB  win. Five of the ten have been golds.

The Duchess has chosen to make solo visits to a number of less well-known sports, as well as joining the royals on their usual outings to events like the dressage.

Earlier this week she surprised spectators by turning up alone to the raucous women's boxing final.

Kate happily took a ringside seat among crowds of noisy, beer-swilling fans to watch what was to become one of the most boisterous events of the Olympics. Judging by her facial expressions, she hadn't been entirely prepared for how brutal the fight would be.

She was seen wincing and hiding behind her hands as boxer Nicola Adams slugged it out with arch-rival Ren Cancan, from China, at the ExCel centre.

But the Duchess was praised for raising the profile of the under-funded sport and recognising the success of Adams, who fought her way up from a Leeds council estate to win the first ever women's boxing gold.

In another low-key appearance, Kate sat down next to star-struck 19-year-old British gymnast  Kristian Thomas at the gymnastics on Sunday and chatted to him as they watched his colleagues on the pommel horse. And she has cheered on the British handball team and British synchronised swimmers at their events.

She has also made three separate trips to visit athletes and volunteers to thank them for their contributions to the games.

Goal! The Duchess of Cambridge was joined at the Riverbank Plaza by Dame Kelly Holmes and both women were delighted with the result. cheering and clapping throughout the game.

Kate Middleton: Closing Ceremonies Look Is A Fashion Repeat.

Kate Middleton stepped out at the closing ceremonies in a Whistles dress we previously saw her wearing at the Queen's Jubilee concert in June. As the Spice Girls reunited, One Direction sang their little hearts out and Monty Python told us to look on the bright side of life, the Duchess smiled and whistled along in a perfectly bold outfit for the occasion.

The dress cost 150 British pounds (roughly $230 CAD), and since Kate was first spotted wearing it, it has been sold out each time it's arrived in store -- and as the frock belonged to last season, it is not longer in production. With a dapper Harry representing the Queen by her side, Kate looked stunning as she watched the Closing Ceremonies.

Throughout the Olympics, Kate repeated many of the same looks, including pieces like her favoured Canadian-designed Smythe blazer and her Stuart Weitzman wedges -- not that she neglected her favourite J-Brands. She found her Olympic uniform and got downright sporty representing United Kingdom in some of their official Olympic gear as she attended event after event. And yes, we even got to enjoy some Kate and Wills PDA.

Now that the Olympics are over, Kate can take a small pause and get out of those wedges and the spotlight.

Kate Middleton Cracks Up on Her Way to Watch Olympics.

Kate Middleton let out a laugh as she hung out at the Olympics in London today. She was back in her Team GB polo shirt, jeans, and red running shoes for her latest day at the Games. Yesterday Kate took to the water to check out a sailing competition after attending track, gymnastics, and handball events over the weekend. Prince William joined her at Sunday's men's 100m track race after wrapping up his own polo match, but he's since returned to work with the air force. Prince Harry has also been making appearances in support of British athletes and has popped up at diving, gymnastics, and dressage events.

Kate Middleton Watches Sailing during the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, in watches the sailing competition during the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games with Princess Anne, Tim Laurence and Sir Steve Redgrave.

Kate Middleton was joined by Princess Anne and champion rower Sir Steve Redgrave for her outing, boarding a rather swanky boat to check out the in-sea action.

After finding her sea legs, the Duchess of Cambridge took a keen interest in the competition, peering through a set of binoculars for a close up, as the competitors navigated the tough course.

Once again making waves with her Olympic styling, Kate was dressed head-to-toe in Team GB attire, making the navy tracksuit top, vivid red trainers and waterproof jacket look rather elegant.

After watching the race, windswept Kate headed back to dry land, and chatted to a host of Team GB stars - including gold medal winner Ben Ainslie.

Talking animatedly and sending the team into fits of giggles, the Duchess was reportedly interesting in everything from their medal hopes to training and support staff.

Kate Middleton's latest outing is just one in a long line of Olympic appearances she's put in since the Games began last week.

She has looked unbelievably chic, while at the same time looking "sporty" and like she totally belongs at a track or swim meet. And now, she's taken things a step further -- she's worn a windbreaker to watch the sailing events. And, unsurprisingly, she looked damn good doing it. Kate, obviously, has perfected this art form.

Wills, Kate and Harry Attend Opening Olympic Ceremony 2012.

Kate Middleton wasn't on the ground at Olympic Stadium last night with the 10,000 athletes and thousands more volunteers, but she was there, watching all of the lights and fireworks and action with the rest of the royal family.

The Duchess watched with a giant smile on her face as the ceremony unfolded. She and Prince William, along with her brother-in-law Prince Harry and the rest of her husband's family, were shown many times during the telecast. Only the Queen was lucky enough to actually be featured in the ceremony. The matriarch was shown in a filmed bit with Daniel Craig!

The Duchess of Cambridge had a brief encounter with First Lad Michelle Obama who looked dazzling in an outfit by American designer J. Mendel. As the case may be for this occasion, Kate should seek fashion advice from Michelle who is also considered a style icon.

Many were eager to see what The Duchess of Cambridge would be wearing at the opening ceremony for the London Olympics 2012. But when Kate Middleton finally stepped out in an ice blue Christopher Kane dress, there were a lot of applause.

Royal trio William, Kate and Harry visit Olympic Athletes.

LONDON, ENGLAND - JULY 31: Kate Middleton, hubby Prince William and brother Harry visit to the accommodation for British athletes in the Athletes Village at Olympic Park in Stratford and then watche the Show Jumping Equestrian event on Day 4 of the London 2012 Olympic Games at Greenwich Park on July 31, 2012.

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, also talked to Rebecca Adlington and the other athletes.

As if Olympians didn't already feel like winners. They got a triple dose of the royal treatment yesterday, when Team GB's foremost cheerleaders, Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry, descended into Olympic Village and met with members of the England squad.

The trio casually strolled into the atheles' village, with Wills going for sporty-chic in a kicky red Olympics hat and his official Team GB white polo, and Kate still in the striped-shirt-and-blazer attire she wore while cheering on royal cousin Zara Phillips to her silver medal win.

The duke and duchess met with Team GB cyclist Victoria Pendleton and greeted a whole slew of other athletes who were on the grounds. And those who weren't so lucky? They had gathered on their balconies overlooking where the trio were, waving to and cheering on the royals as they passed through the compound in London's East End.

Meanwhile, the royal rounds continued today, as Will and Harry served as spectators for the rowing event, turning up to their old school grounds, Eton's Dorney Lake, to watch the British women claim England's first gold of the games.

During the surprise visit, Harry also met with members of the Australian team and walked away with a stuffed kangaroo. Make that a stuffed kangaroo sporting boxing gloves. They also ventured inside, with Will and Harry touring the quarters of the women's handball players and engaging in the adorably obligatory brotherly ribbing over who knew less about the sport. (Advantage: Harry.)
